Limoges Hand Painted Signed MB Blue Forget Me Nots Gold Demitasse Cup & Saucer
Limoges Hand Painted Signed MB Blue Forget Me Nots Gold Demitasse Cup & Saucer. Nice antique spiral fluted / shanked porcelain demitasse cup and saucer. Decorated on the outside of the cup and on the saucer in blue with gold highlights to the fluting and gold floral scrollwork designs above. Gold gilding along the edge and to the handle of the cup.
The inside of the cup is decorated with small hand painted blue forget me not flowers along the top. Signed by the artist MB on the base of both the cup and saucer in gold, but otherwise unmarked. Probably made in Limoges during the 1880s to 1890s. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition.The cup measures approximately 2 7/8 inches wide including the handle x 2 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
