Antique Thallimier Demitasse Cups & Saucers, Portrait A

  
This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Munich, Germany by the decorator Thallimier in the 1890s. It is a little known decorator that made high quality hand painted porcelains in the late 19th century. The saucers 4 inches in diameter.

The cup is 2 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 1 7/8 inches. There are 3 little cabriolet legs on the bottom and a uniquely styled handle. The hand painting on this cup and saucer is amazing.

There is a portrait of a little child on the front of the cup, surrounded by the most elaborate, Christmas inspired ornaments. Perhaps she is a Christmas fairy.
