8 Wedgwood Footed Demitasse Cup & Saucer Sets 1944 ARGYLE Pattern Patrician

  

OFFERING A SET OF 8 WEDGWOOD PATRICIAN "ARGYLE" PATTERN DEMITASSE CUPS & SAUCERS FROM 1944. THESE WERE MADE IN JANUARY 1944 (From the "1 D 44" impressed mark). MARKED ON THE BASE OF EACH AND HAND NUMBERED WITH THIS PATTERN NUMBER BY THE PAINTER along with the PAINTER'S INITIALS (there are individual hand touches of painting applied on a delicate floral transfer). THESE ARE QUITE HARD TO FIND. MINT CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS OR CHIPS.

SAUCER SIZE 5 1/8 ROUND DIAMETER. CUP SIZE 2 1/2" HIGH x 2 1/2" ROUND DIAMETER (at the top) x 1 15/16 ROUND DIAMETER (at the base). CUP IS APPROXIMATELY 3 3/8 WIDE AT THE HANDLE. A FINE BLUE LINE DECORATES THE EDGE OF THE SAUCER AS WELL AS THE HANDLE AND TOP OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE CUPS.

THE SAUCER and CUP ARE EMBOSSED WITH A FLOWING FLORAL PATTERN (PATRICIAN). THE INSIDE OF THE CUP AND THE INSIDE CIRCLE OF THE SAUCER HAVE A DELICATE FLORAL WORK WITH HAND APPLIED COLOR.
