A charming and beautiful antique early 20th. Set of six Coalport Demitasse/Espresso cups and saucers. The actual pattern name is unknown to me, but they would stand on their own as a wonderful addition to a traditional dining table. Made in England, the cups bear two different face patterns, three cups in one and three in the other.
The reverse of each cup is identical, as is a single flower on the inside surface of the cups. The saucers bear three differing patterns, three of one, two of another and one that is of another configuration. I've attempted to photograph the various patterns closely and in detail.
The photography colors are very true to the actual colors, lovely hand-painting over transfer in bright, vibrant tones. Please examine each photo, including those of the backstamp. They are in overall excellent antique condition with little or no wear to the gold trim, few if any surface scratches, no crazing, staining, chips, fleabites, etc. The glaze is bright and clear. There is one cup that has a tiny hairline crack across the bottom which does not affect its appearance or usefulness. Each cup measures approximately 2.5" high, 1.5" at the base and 2 at the rim. The saucers measure about 4.25 in diameter at the rim.
Overall, an excellent item for collectors of discernment and taste. I will be happy to answer any questions and take additional photos upon request.
