Great day and welcome to another Radocity listing... This 10 piece listing is for the highly desirable Arabia of Finland Valencia patterned tea/ coffee pot set with 4 demitasse cups and saucers. Every piece is individually hand painted and signed by the designer. The Valencia series is considered to be Ulla Procopes masterwork.

The photos of the mark and pattern detail are the exact ones being offered. The Teapot is about 7 inches high to the top of the lid with a 5 inch base diameter. It measures about 9 inches from handle to spout. The lid measures about 3.25 inches in diameter.

Each saucer (x4) measures about 4.5 inches in diameter. Each demitasse cup (x4) is about 2 inches high with a 3 inch diameter.

Ulrika (Ulla) Eleonora Matilda Procopé-Nyman (19211968) was a Finnish designer of ceramics. Procopé was one of the most noted Finnish ceramic designers of the Golden Age of Finnish Design.

Her work has been produced by the Arabia Company in Finland. Procopé graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts (later known as the Aalto School Of Arts) in Helsinki in 1948 and entered the Arabia ceramics factory directly after graduating. She continued to work for Arabia until her death in 1968. Procopé specialized in creating practical ceramic designs and decorations for daily use.

Procopé is most noted for her cobalt blue hand-painted Valencia series, which was designed in 1960 and remained in production until 2002. The design was influenced by Southern European ceramics, which Procopé was introduced to since her youth. She lived in Southern France by the Spanish border as a young girl, and after retiring went to live in the Canary Islands until her death.
