Hutschenreuther Lorenz JHR Germany 4 Procelain Demitasse Coffee Expresso Cups & Saucers Vintage Date 1968-70. About the Demitasse Set of 4 Cups and Saucers. This is terrific Hutschenreuther Lorenz JHR, Germany, set of 4 procelain demitasse cups and saucers.

The set of cups and saucers come in three colors. There is a pair of black and gold on white, there is one yellow and gold on white and one green and gold on white cup and saucer. The cups and saucers are also trimmed in gold. The LHR mark on the bottom of the cups and saucers dates the set to 1968-70. The set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.

The Hutschenreuther porcelain factory started production in 1814. It was established by Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther in Bavarian town Hohenburg an der Eger. He employed artists craftsmen and sculptors from all over continental Europe. Hutschenreuther focused on quality and design.

Lorenz Hutschenreuther, Carolus' son, opened in 1857 another porcelain factory in Bavarian town of Selb. The Selb factory was so well managed that it was able to compete with famous British porcelain brands. Lorenz and Carolus, son and father, were competitors and didn't cooperate. In 1969 even assets of Hohenburg Hutschenreuther factory were bought. The company was renamed Porzellanfabriken Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG Selb.
