SPODE CHINA ENGLAND CHELSEA BIRD COFFEE DEMITASSE CUPS & SAUCERS X 6 MINT! A lovely set of 6 fine bone china coffee or demitasse cups & saucers from Spode in the Chelsea Bird pattern.

All of my pieces are English Spode. These cups and saucers are from a dinner service I recently bought and which has a very interesting provenance. The vendor, Colin Anderson, was a former. Chef to HM Queen Elizabeth II.

He subsequently owned the Balmoral Hotel in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. He kindly provided the following information. I bought the dinner service for a lunch I prepared at my hotel for the Earl and countess of Harewood. They were having their cousin Prince Michael of Kent staying for the weekend.

I made an asparagus mousse followed by roast crispy duck and Grand Marnier souffle. The service was used especially for this occasion. M aware it was used only for this occasion. In mint condition showing no sign of use or wear. 6.5cm/2½ in diameter and 6cm/2¼.
