Antique Thieme Dresden Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Jeweled

  
This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Carl Thieme Dresden studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high.

The porcelain is fine and translucent. It is hand painted with garlands of tiny, colorful flowers. Garlands of raised gold beading drape across the flower garlands, accentuated with enamel jewels in opal, turquoise and violet. Trellis-like borders of raised gold ring both pieces.

There is rich gold trim on the rims and handle. This demitasse cup and saucer is rare and unusual. FOR OUR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE US. The Post Office requires this.
