CONDITION: There is slight rubbing to gilding inside the cup and the rim of the gallery where the cup sits is slightly worn. This porcelain trembleuse demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden Studio in the 1880s. The saucer measures 3 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 inch high.
The cup measures 1 3/4 inches high and the opening is 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The little gallery attached to the well of the saucer holds the cup so that it doesnt slip off. The ground color is deep cobalt blue.It is decorated with hand painted raised gilding in an ornate pattern. This form of cup and saucer, especially in demitasse size, is very uncommon.
