Antique Josphinenhutte Glass Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Enameled, Hand Blown
CONDITION: Excellent, without defects of any kind. This glass demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Silesia by Josphinenhutte Glass Factory in the late 19th century. The region of Silesia encompassed parts of Poland, Czech Republic and Germany. The factory was established in 1842 by Count Leopold von Schaffgotsch. Franz Pool was the creative director. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The hand blown glass has an iridescent olive green tint. It is decorated in art nouveau style enameled designs. The raised gold medallions with red accents contrast beautifully against the subtle green ground. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. The Post Office requires this.
