Carl Thieme Hand Painted Quatrefoil Demitasse Cup With Reticulated Saucer
This colorful and exquisite Carl Thieme quatrefoil demitasse cup with a reticulated saucer has the SP mark for Saxony Porcelain that was introduced by Carl Thieme in 1901. There are no other markings on the pieces. This set is a very delicate example of Thieme Dresden porcelain. The cup is only 1 3/4" tall and 2 7/8" wide. The reticulated saucer is 4 3/4 wide. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or repairs. The only blemish to note are two areas of tiny gold loss from the verge of the well of the saucer. This is honest wear due to the repeated movement and replacement of the cup into the well of the saucer. The garland swags on the demitasse cup are repeated on the saucer. They are marked as shown. We have more of these.
