Exquisite Decorative 5 SETS of Footed FLUTED Demitasse CUPS & SAUCERS from ROYAL ALBERT BONE CHINA. DESCRIPTION: The beautiful scalloped & fluted, footed, demitasse cups with their saucers were produced in a striking blue, pink, green color palette on high white porcelain. The forget-me-not floral patches look so bold with their bright colors displayed on the high white of the porcelain.
All pieces are the bright white of the fine bone china. The rims are beautifully trimmed in a gold. The foot & handle of the cups are also accented in gold. These are on Royal Albert's Montrose shape.CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. There are no utensil marks or wear to the gold. DIMENSIONS: The mini cups have a diameter of 2 7/8" and a height of 2 5/8" to the rim with a height of 2 13/16 to the top of the handle.
The saucers are 4 7/8" in diameter and have a height of 5/8". Wild joined his father Thomas Wild in purchasing Albert Work in 1895. Upon his father's death in 1898, he became sole proprietor adding St. Mary's Works in Longton in 1905. As Wild's business prospered, he acquired other factories and pottery business.
By the early 1920's he owned or controlled 15 potteries. Were admitted to the partnership in 1917 and the father retired in 1932. The business was incorporated as Thomas C. Wild & Sons (Royal Albert) took over Paragon China in 1960, then merged with the Lawley Group to become Allied English Potteries in 1964, subsequently Paragon and Royal Albert joined the Royal Doulton Group in 1972.
