Royal Worcester Gold Floral Grey Chintz & Pink Demitasse Cup & Saucer Circa 1879. Very pretty porcelain bone china demitasse cup and saucer.
Decorated in the known Royal Worcester W72 pattern with gold gilt flowers with red outlines and green leaves with gold outlines over a grey and white chintz floral background. With gold gilding along the rims and to the handle.The interior of the cup and center / well of the saucer are decorated in pink. The saucer is marked on the reverse with a faint impressed Royal Worcester mark that is very hard to see, you can make it out if you hold a bright flash light up to the front of the saucer and shine it through the porcelain. Also marked with an English registry mark in puce with a date code for may 7 1879, and a retailer's mark for A. Daniell And Son 46 Wigmore Street London.
Also marked with the pattern number W72. Has crazing typical of bone china and some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 3 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/4 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
