Thomas Rosenthal Bavaria Coffee Pot Set Demitasse Cups, Saucers, Cream & Sugar

  
This is a gorgeous vintage porcelain coffee set from Thomas Bavaria, a division of Rosenthal. The ceramics were made in Germany and decorated in Denmark, as noted in the WJS Decor Danemark letters in red on the bottom. There is a chip on the inside of the spout. I didn't notice it at first, because there is the most gorgeous decoration on the entire spout, and I was looking at the whiteness as an extension of that. I do feel the pot is worthy of repair and have taken the flaw into pricing consideration.

The glaze on these pieces is reddish brown, buttery smooth, semi glossy. All pieces are banded in gold. The insides of each piece are white. All pieces are in excellent condition with the exception of the nick on the spout mentioned above. There are five demitasse cups, each holding 3 ounces when filled to the rim.

There are 5 teacups, each measuring 2" x 3 1/1", 7 saucers, each measuring 4 1/2" wide, a creamer measuring 4 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide, a lidded sugar bowl measuring 4 1/2" x 4 1/2", and the coffee pot, measuring 7 1/2" tall. As mentioned earlier, the spout has a stencilled flower decoration with the clay color white showing through. The handle is also mottled gold/white as a continuation of that design.
