12 Royal Worcester Williamson Flower Botanical Demitasse Cups and Saucers

  

Presented is a fantastic set of 12 vintage Royal Worcester demitasse cups and saucers, designed by A. Williamson, dating to the mid 20th century. The cups are straight sided and have wonderful bamboo from handles, and both the cups and saucers have fine gold gilt rims. Each cup and saucer is beautifully painted with a botanical textbook quality illustration of a different flower, in realistic detail and glorious color.

The flowers are: lily of the valley, convolvulus, lily, tulip, columbine, polyanthus, poppy, pansy, rose, pink, daisy, and wallflower, as identified on the undersides of the pieces themselves. The cups have a capacity of about 3.5 ounces/110 milliliters, filled to a reasonable level. This set is in good overall condition. Most of the cups have some crazing, but none have any chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Of the saucers, the tulip, convolvulus, and columbine have noticeable crazing, and the columbine has a tiny nick to the rim, more noticeable from the underside than the top side.

The decoration and gilding is all in great shape. Each cup and saucer is signed with the Royal Worcester mark, as well as Made in England, bone china, and the name of the flower depicted.

Each saucer measures about 4 7/8 inches in diameter. Each cup stands about 2 1/4 inches tall at the rim and measures about 3 inches from handle to opposite side. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
