1910s Set of 12 Demitasse Cups Saucers Porcelain Inserts Sterling Silver Vintage
Set of 12 Demitasse Sterling Silver Cups & Saucers with Schwarzburg Porcelain liners. Straus & Sons used between 1904 -1924 (picture #5). Pierced sterling silver holders with Sterling Silver Manufacturing Company mark (SSMC). The company was active from 1910 to 1930. Silver holders have a W monogram with the letters E and R inside the W (see pictures).
Sterling silver saucers also with SSMC mark.. Saucer's diameter is 3 5/16 inches. Total height of porcelain cups in silver holders on saucers is 2 3/8 inches. Total weight of the 12 sterling holders and sterling saucers is 15.2 ounces.
Silver saucers only have very minor scratches consistent with almost 100 years of age! One cup has a small chip on bottom of upper rim - I'll add in another insert that matches but it won't have a maker's mark underneath. One saucer has a tiny ding. One cup has a very small dent.
