This is a name that is infamous for its top of the line, hand painted pieces. The Rothchild pattern was created exclusively for the Rothchild family of Europe in 1860. It was produced continually up until the late 1990's. Obviously, for collecting purposes, this much older mark is more highly sought after and valued, than the newer pieces. All 24 pieces present in excellent condition, despite their great age. There are no chips, cracks, or scratches anywhere to be found. The scalloped top cups have a gold handle, and the plain top cups have a green handle. Both versions feature the basket weave impressed design around the top of the cups, and the rims of the saucers.The birds are done in assorted colors, and the butterflies and bugs appear in yellow, blue, and pink.
