4 Espresson Cups & Saucers, Demitasse, Hand painted Savane by Gien France #540

  

This is a beautiful hand painted espresso or demitasse cup and saucer set of 4 by Gien France. Collection raises to the top of the most desired patterns of this very well respected house of Fine French Limoges. Rendered with a beautiful exotic animal inspired design, the center medallion on the plates features an image of a zebra in profile standing beside a calm stream. This skillfully painted scene is surrounded by a brilliant blue band that cirecles the design. The border around the zebra center is painted in bold leopard spots and green blades of tall grasses tying all of these elements together into a stunning design.

The plates are 6.5" wide and the saucers are 5.25 and each is marked on the reverse with a three castle turret image above "Gien and FRANCE. GARANTI LAVE - VAISSELLE is printed beneath the circular logo that incorporates the plate design. It is also marked as being dishwasher proof.

The cups are 3" wide and 1.75" high and each is marked on the bottom with a three castle turrent and the words Gien FRANCE in blue. The entire set is in excellent unused like new condition with no cracks, chips, crazing or discoloration. Certainly a set to catch the eye when serving your next coffee or a perfect gift for a house warming or wedding.
