Antique CAC Belleek Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Nouveau
This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in the US by the Ceramic Arts Company between 1889 and 1896. This company later became Lenox. The saucer is 4 5/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter. The egg shell thin porcelain has fine molded ribs. Large flowers are defined and outlined in raised gold. The design is sponged on and painted with a brush. The colors blend from magenta to pink.
There is fine gilding on the rims and handle. It is difficult to describe the painting but perhaps Impressionistic is applicable. FOR OUR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE US.
