This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany at the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the 1880s. The saucer measures 3 3/4 inches in diameter and is 1 inch high. The cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The saucer features a little gallery which holds the cup in place.
The French called this a trembleuse or tremblers cup. It is unusual to find the demitasse size. The two pieces are hand painted in the Meissen style. There are scenes of lovers framed in floral garlands. Lacy gold trims the edges and there are gilded accents.
