Antique Fraureuth Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Cobalt & Gold
CONDITION: But for very slight wear to gold, it is excellent. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by Samson in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches. The cup is 2 1/8 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. The porcelain is fine and translucent. The set is beautifully hand painted. Exotic birds, in dazzling colors, are surrounded by foliage and flowers. There is gilded, rococo style trim around the border.
All of the hand painting is finely detailed, and very similar to the work at Dresden. The rims and handle have gold trim. The Post Office requires this. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Cup & Saucers".
