This porcelain demitasse or mocha cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1920s. It is marked with underglaze blue crossed swords.
The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The set has the traditional shape with points on the rims and the background color is cobalt blue.
There is a cartouche on the front of the cup and in the well of the saucer containing large bouquets of flowers. They are painted with fine detail and vivid coloring. They are framed in elaborately hand gilded cartouches. There is gilded trim on the handle and rims.The Post Office requires this.
