Antique Naples Capodimonte Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Cherubs

  
This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Capodimonte in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches. The cup is 2 1/8 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches in diameter. The decoration is molded in high relief. The cherubs and flower details are hand painted and have a glossy glaze.

The background has a matte finish and is also hand painted. The mischievous cherubs are drinking wine, eating and playing musical instruments. It is fun to see. The handle of the cup is fashioned like a piece of coral.
