Antique Ovington Bros 8 Demitasse Sterling Cups, Saucers &Lenox Liners Very RARE

  

This Ovington pattern has no number. The only other sterling pieces in this brand were 3... One is a demitasse set with a different patten, a sugar tong and a coffee pot and tea pot. You can find many pieces of China, but sterling is rare. Each cup and saucer without the insert weighs 56.6 grams (2 ounces), a little more than half pound of sterling for the 8.

Cup size about 2" Saucer W 3.75" Mono Z. They did sell items that didn't have their mark/name on the items/pieces but so many were made exclusively for them and did bear their name.

The store, Ovington Brothers, started in the late 1800's and the last of three brothers to run the store passed away in 1909. The store continued to remain open by family and sell fine China/bronzes/glassware and sometime after 1920 shortened the name to Ovingtons. Thank you for your consideration.
