Boxed set of 6 Coalport coffee cans or chocolate cups with Sterling silver holders - a beautiful Edwardian set of pretty demitasse cups and saucers in their original presentation box. Each cup of a flared shape with a scalloped edge rim, cobalt blue border, decorated with swag and bow gilt design over a plain white body, mounted in an embossed and pierced cup holder in sterling silver showing pairs of cupids dancing carrying garlands of flowers with a vacant cartouche to the centre and a griffin head handle. The saucer with a similar design to the cup with cobalt border, scalloped rim and gilt bow and garland decoration. These are housed in the original blue gilt decorated cream satin lined case, probably a wedding present for a wealthy aristocratic family. Marked for Jay, Richard Attenborough & Co.

Of Oxford Street London and hallmarked for Chester 1904 - overall weight of the set including box 2349grms - dimensions of cup 66mm height x 55mm diameter (not including handle), dimensions of saucer 122mm diameter, dimensions of the box 385mm x 264mm x 120mm - 1904 England. Excellent overall condition, box in near immaculate condition - some discolouration to the inside of cups as shown in the photographs, some areas of crazing to the saucers and one saucer with a central firing crack, no other chips, cracks or restoration to note - tarnish to the silver which can be cleaned if desired - a really beautiful set in near perfect condition - Please refer to the photos as they form an integral part of the description.
