Royal Worcester Set of 2 1924 Jeweled Cabinet Demitasse Cups & Saucers

  

Covered in an alluring and incredibly vibrant canary-like yellow, this set of 2 Royal Worcester jeweled demitasse cups and saucers is a rare beauty. Made in 1924, the tops of the cups and the rims of the saucers are detailed with exquisite golden decoration and blue and green beading. The cups have a base diameter of 1.75 inches and a height of 2 inches. The high-rimmed saucers have a diameter of a bit over 4 inches and a height of 1 inch. These glossy pieces are in very good condition, with no chips and no cracks.

There is fine crazing on the cups only, but it is not easy to see in the dominant yellow portion unless you are using a magnifying glass. The insides of the cups are spotless, minus a few pin point-sized dots of discoloration. Their golden decoration is in excellent condition, but one cup is missing most of its raised blue beads (see 2nd to last photo). The crazing can be seen on the undersides of the cups (see 3rd to last photo for the most egregious example) and in the white areas of their handles and upper rims. One of the saucers is missing a fair amount of golden decoration in one area close to its rim and on its inner golden ring (see last photo).

The other saucer has some blotchiness and a few scratches on its inner golden ring (see 4th to last photo). Both saucers have a few spots of rubbing of the gold on their outer exterior rims.

The saucers do have all of their beading, but a few of the beads are a bit worn. Both the cups and the saucers have some light shelf wear and a few pin point-sized dings on their undersides. All of the pieces feature the Royal Worcester mark and a handpainted pattern number that I believe is 2010, although I cannot say definitively.
