Schlesische Porzellanfabrik Demitasse Cups and Saucers Set of 4

  

An exceptional set of four (4) antique porcelain demitasse cups and matching saucers manufactured by the Schlesisch Porzellanfabrik in Tiefenfurt, Silesia (now Parawa, Poland) Cups are 2" tall and saucers are 4" in diameter. The set dates to the brief historic ownership of Louis Lovinsohn between 1885 and 1891. This traditional'Dresden Style' quatrefoil scenes on each cup feature intricate hand painted romantic scenes reminiscent of Watteau while the alternating panels have detailed multi-colored floral bouquets. Each piece features the authentic Schlesisch factory backspace: Blue Crossed Swords with capital S under the glaze.
