Vienna Style Demitasse Portrait Cup & Saucer

  
Condition: The interior of the cup has a light scratch. There are no other flaws. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Austria in the 1890s. It has an under glaze bee hive marking. The saucer is 4 diameter, cup is 1 1/2 high with diameter of 2 ¾. The ground color is cobalt blue.

There is a delicately hand painted portrait of a young woman on the front of the cup. It is framed in raised and beaded gold. Garlands of raised, gilded roses encircle the saucer and cup.

There is embossed gilding around the rims of both pieces. The interior of the cup and handle are gilded. FOR OUR CUSTOMERS OUTSIDE THE US. The Post Office requires this.
