1924 RARE Royal Worcester Royal Lily demitasse duo

  
A rare and exquisite 1924 Royal Worcester hand painted demitasse coffee can and saucer in the "Royal Lily" pattern. The cup stands 4.8 cm tall and spans 7 cm from edge of cup to outer edge of handle. The saucer has a 9.5 cm diameter. This extremely rare duo is hand painted in exquisite detail using cobalt blue and copious gilding inside and out on a crisp white body.

The workmanship is typical of the very best from England's pre-eminent craftspeople. In almost perfect original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, the colours and gilding remain vibrant and bright. My only observation is some mild rubbing to the gilding inside the cup and on the inner well of the saucer. The reverse of both pieces bear the Royal Worcester England back stamp in puce and hand written pattern number and decorator's mark. The saucer has an impressed mark as well.
