This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Wedgwood in the 1870s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and the cup is 2 ¼ inches high.
The ground color is salmon pink with a band of burgundy red crisscrossing the surface. Elaborate hand painted raised gilding covers everything. Tiny gilded blossoms fill every space. The burgundy border has an ornate scrolled design. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold.
Royal Crown Derby often did similar decorations in this fashion.
