Extravagantly gold-encrusted and cobalt drenched demitasse cups by Hutschenreuther Selb of Germany. Neither set appears to have been used, and in fact one pairing of cup and saucer has its original German "checkpoint" stickers on the underside. They are marked "Echt Kobalt, " which translated from the German, means real cobalt. Both cups and saucers have criss-crossed diamond patterned bands at their edges. The cups stand 2 1/4 inches tall, with a diameter of 3 inches.
The "foot" of the cups measures 1 3/8 inches across, but the "neck" between the foot and the bowl is a mere 1/2 inches across at its narrowest point. The saucers measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter.
