Rosenthal Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Hand Painted, Art Deco

  

CONDITION: Excellent, without defects of any kind. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Rosenthal in 1929. The marking indicates this year. The saucer is 4 1/2 inches in diameter. The cup is 1 7/8 inches high with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches.

The cup is uniquely shaped, round at the top, has 8 squared off panels and a pedestal foot. The hand decoration has a floral type medallion and gilding to create a symmetrical design. The foot of the cup and well of the saucer is royal blue with rich gilding.
