WORCESTER ANTIQUE PORCELAIN 1ST PERIOD DR WALL KAKIEMON 2 1/2 CUP & SAUCER 1755. This at least Two hundred and Forty Seven year old Cup and Saucer Set is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. Very Nice Antique Worcester First Period Dr. Wall Cup and Saucer Set. The colors and condition of this set are amazing, showing very little wear.
Both cup & saucer have top quality hand painting. They have a deep blue scale ground with detailed gilding around racoco cartouches. There are enamel painted flowers with great detail.The base of the cup and saucer have the Square Fret mark hand painted in underglaze blue. The square blue fret mark dates these from 1755 to 1775.
They were put on loan to the Seattle Art Museum in 1981 by the previous owners. These have been very well taken care of in the Seattle Art Museum since 1981 until they came up for sale in 2022. The Cup measures 2 1/2 High x 2 1/4. " Wide rim to rim and the Saucer measures 5 1/8" Wide rim to rim.I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Antique Cup and Saucer Set.
