19th Cent Royal Vienna Style Hand Painted Courting Couple Demitasse Cup & Saucer Fabulous porcelain demitasse cup and saucer decorated on a Meissen style blank with entwined handle. Decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a hand painted courting couple on the cup framed in gold gilding.
With pompadour pink, celeste blue, yellow and burgundy red panels with elaborate raised gold gilt flower and scrollwork overlay designs and white enamel beading. With gold gilding along the edge. The handle to the cup and the inside of the cup are fully gilded.
Marked on the bottom with an overglaze blue pseudo Royal Vienna beehive/shield mark above Germany. Probably decorated by one of the Dresden studios during the mid to late 19th century. Has some very minor wear to the gilding and one small spot of wear to the blue in the saucer, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
The cup measures approximately 3 3/8 inches wide x 1 7/8 inches tall. The saucer measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide.
