Antique Davenport Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Footed
This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Davenport around 1870. The shape of the cup is documented and there are pattern numbers hand painted on the back of the saucer. The saucer measures 4 3/4 inches.
The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The cup features three little ball feet. The set is hand decorated in an ornate Imari pattern. The cup is fully decorated inside, which is very unusual to find.
The rims and handles are gilded. The entire surface of both pieces is decorated with elaborate gilding and amazing colors. The Post Office requires this.
