This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in France by a Limoges decorating firm in the 1890s. There are hand painted letters J. The porcelain blank marking is gilded over.
The saucer is 5 inches in diameter and 7/8 of an inch deep. The cup is 2 1/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/8 inches. The cup is quatrafoil shaped on top and blown out and puffy on the bottom. It has a fancy, rococo style handle. The ground color is cobalt blue. Elaborately hand gilded with two colored raised gold. The front of the cup has a hand painted scene of cupid with his quiver of arrows, stalking in the woods.
