White Star Line Wisteria Brownfield Demitasse Cup Saucer Titanic era PERFECT. This is a stunning piece. The word Brownfield is embossed on the bottom of the saucer. Many people call this pattern Brownfield...
It is difficult to get a picture of it and the "B" is not legible. There is the letter N over the glaze with a line and what appears to be 01 under the glaze. You'll have to judge for yourself. Clear, strong, enscribed, 5488 x in rust color over the glaze. No chips cracks or crazing of any kind! Cup measures 2 1/4" high and 2 1/8" across opening. Saucer measures 4 3/8 across with deeply curved rim.
It is just a flaw in application of the pattern decal. I can't speculate where this was used but if you're looking at this... I'll leave that to the experts! This is an early mark of William Wm.
Clear, bright, strong and bold colors. The tourquoise bands (fingers) (tongues) are flawless.
The hand applied gold is in excellent condition. You can see the paint strokes in the red burrgee, the house flag of the line... I'm not an expert so you must judge this item for yourself. I would love any info that you could share. This is difficult to part with... But should be in the hands of a collector or Titanic Museum for display and safe keeping!
