Antique Vienna Demitasse Cup & Saucer, Cobalt Blue

  
This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Austria in the 1880s. It does not have the country of origin. The saucer measures 4 inches in diameter and the cup is 1 ¾ inches high. The ground color is cobalt blue. The scene on the front of the cup is done in rust orange shades. There are figures standing near ruins of ancient buildings. The painting is detailed and of fine quality. There is gold trim around the reserve on the cup and on the saucer.

The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. This set has unusual subject matter elegantly executed.
